The Birth of the Brain-Controlled Wheelchair

Our work in the Media

22 May 2014 : We featured on a special 50th Anniversary episode of BBC Horizon, which introduced the Longitude Prize 2014. In the programme we demonstrated the state-of-the-art in brain-controlled robots and explored the challenges that need to be overcome in order to realise viable brain-controlled exoskeletons.

19 Oct 2013 : Our brain-controlled wheelchair featured on Swiss National Radio - SRF (in German). If you listen to the audio, we feature at 11m25s.

08 Oct 2013 : The European Commission released a short documentary about the TOBI project. We filmed this together with our partners at AIAS, Bologna, Italy.

25 Apr 2012 : Some of our projects featured in the opening of the new Centre for Neuroprosthetics. Media coverage can be seen on Swiss Federal Television (en français, auf Deutsch) and The Huffington Post (in English). The news even reached Australia!

24 Jan 2012 : I demonstrated our brain-controlled wheelchair for a documentary on the Discovery Channel.

17 Oct 2011 : Our brain-controlled wheelchair featured on a UK Channel 4 documentary: Brave New World with Stephen Hawking.
